School District of Newberry County Graduation Reminders
Mid-Carolina High School:
The MCHS Graduation Ceremony will be held Wednesday, June 1 at 8:30 a.m. at Lon Armstrong Football Stadium.
Each senior will receive two passes that will allow a total of 15 guests to attend the ceremony at Lon Armstrong Stadium.
Pass holders and guests will be allowed to enter the football stadium parking lot at 7:15 a.m. Attendees will be required to enter the parking lot using only the entrance closest to the Football field. Attendees will be required to enter together with the pass holder at graduation. (Allowable capacity includes infants & small children). The entrance gate will be locked at 8:15 a.m. No one will be allowed to enter the stadium after that time so please be on time.
**June 1 is a regular school day and all Newberry County schools will be operating on a Half Day schedule. Parking will be limited and traffic may cause delays for attendees. To limit the amount of traffic on June 1 attendees are asked to carpool in order to reduce the number of vehicles entering and exiting the parking lot at the Mid-Carolina Middle School campus. No individual or group photos will be allowed on the Football Field at the conclusion of the graduation ceremony to avoid interference with Middle School student dismissal on June 1. Graduates and guests will be allowed to take pictures at the Mid-Carolina High School Track and Field Facility from 10:00-11:00 a.m. after the graduation ceremony has ended.
Newberry High School:
The Newberry High School Graduation Ceremony will be held Thursday, June 2 at 8:30 a.m. at Mike Ware Field. Each senior will be given 15 tickets for the football stadium. Every individual is required to have the ticket on them in order to enter the campus the morning of graduation. Children under 2 will not need a ticket if graduation is in the stadium.
In case of rain: Five tickets will be used for the gymnasium, and two tickets will be used for the theater. In the case of an inside graduation, every individual, including infants, will be required to have a ticket.
The gate will open at 7:15 a.m. for guests to enter the stadium. No guests will be allowed in the stadium or seated after 8:25. Graduation will start promptly at 8:30 a.m.
Please do not bring balloons, etc. into the stadium.
Whitmire Community School:
The Whitmire Community School Graduation Ceremony will be held Wednesday, June 1 at 7 p.m. at the Whitmire Community School Gymnasium.
All seniors are given 12 tickets. Every guest, including infants, must have a ticket. Doors will open for guests from 6:30-6:55pm. No guests will be seated after 6:55pm.
No signage, balloons, or any other distractions will be permitted into graduation.
Each Graduation Ceremony Will Be Broadcast Live Again This Year - The NCSD will broadcast graduation on YouTube so that individuals who do not have tickets can watch graduation live from any location with internet access. Due to this event being streamed in real time there is the potential for complications to occur during the broadcast. The NCSD Technology Department will work to correct any complications as quickly as possible.
