Due to the threat of severe weather, all after school activities for the Newberry County School District have been cancelled for Thursday, February 6. Cancelled activities include all athletic games and practices, Boys and Girls Club after school care, meetings, programs, adult education classes, and all other activities and events.
2020-2021 Inscripción de nuevo estudiante (el estudiante nunca ha asistido al Distrito de Newberry) comeniza 2 de marzo de 2020. Los niños que cumplen 3 años de edad antes del 1 de Septiembre de 2020 y en el área de asistencia de Boundary Street Elementary, Gallman Elementary y Newberry Elementary, cumplan con los mismos requisitos que figuran en la inscripción para Kindergarten.
2020-2021 New Student Registration for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten (child has not attended any school in Newberry County previously) begins March 2nd, 2020.
3 year olds by September 1, 2020 and in the attendance area for Boundary Street Elementary, Gallman Elementary and Newberry Elementary, please follow the same requirements that are listed for Kindergarten registration.

Board Meeting Tonight at 7:30 PM
The Mid-Carolina Middle School Academic Team was recognized for being named the 2019 S.C. State Academic Team Champions for the second year in a row. Additional information on this topic can be found in the News Section of the District Page.
The following students from the Newberry County Career Center were recognized for participating in the SkillsUSA Competition: Jonathan Tiahuechti-Huetra, Jesus Ramirez, Andrew Boland, Noah Longshore, Joseph Murray and Nicolette Still.
The School District of Newberry County Board recognized Mid-Carolina Middle School students Jack Gantt and Matthew Moyd for earning third place in Density Lab at the S.C. Science Olympiad.
Mid-Carolina Middle School Principal Deedee Westwood was recognized for being elected to the S.C. Beta Club Council.
Mid-Carolina High School’s Hailey Roach was recognized by the Board for qualifying for All-State Chorus.
Local high school students Matthew Epting, Andy Lin and Shield Sawyer were recognized by City Council for being recipients of this year’s Newberry-PMPA Community Scholar Scholarship.
The Mid-Carolina High School JROTC Color Guards participated in the Memorial Day Ceremony held in Newberry on Sunday, May 26th
Congratulations to Will Garner! Will was selected and played in the Boys State Tennis Singles Tournament, May 13-14. He played against the best in the state in this high level tournament and competed well. We are very proud of Will’s accomplishments! Way to go Will!
