One our 6th grade students here at NMS, Hannah Chapman, had the opportunity to compete in the 2023 4-H Engineering Bridge Building Challenge and the 2023 4-H Engineering Mystery Challenge. Hannah worked collaboratively with a team to design, construct, and test a truss bridge. Hannah and her team learned the basics of truss design and load distribution, how to manage limited resources to achieve a goal, and they learned how to communicate effectively and contribute to the efforts of the their group. The bridge that was built by her team was able to hold 14 pounds and earned them a white ribbon for this challenge. During the mystery challenge, she learned to work under pressure and demonstrate her STEM knowledge. She got a blue ribbon for the mystery challenge. CONGRATULATIONS, Hannah!! Your NMS Family is proud of you!!

8th Grade Parent Notification from Dr. York-NMS Counselor
Please Note: Students received an invitation letter on Monday regarding appointment with their high school counselor. The letter provides the date and time for their meeting and it is an invitation for parents to attend as needed. These meetings will be held every Monday during the month of March. Today, (3/1/23) at 9:03 the Fire Alarm went off at NMS due to work being done on the HVAC Units (Smoke Alarm)
NMS faculty and staff would like to thank the Fire Department for their assistance today.
There is no damage and all normal activities have resumed.
I would like to thank faculty, staff, and students for their diligence this morning.
